The chances are that you've already heard a lot about how important it is to have positive thinking in weight loss. Having negative thoughts will mean weight loss will be really difficult for you. If however you start positive thinking, then weight loss will become so much easier for you.
Despite what you might think, the reason you're not able to lose weight is because you believe you are fat. You may even hate yourself for being fat. If you were to believe you were thin, then can you imagine the great impact this will have on your weight loss goals? The mindset you have along with your attitude can make or break your goals for losing weight. In this article I hope to help you develop a positive mindset.
It is important that you remember that, just as you can't lose weight overnight, you won't be able to turn negative thoughts into positive thoughts in a short amount of time either. Be patient with yourself and try to include these changes in your life gradually.
The reason you want to lose weight: What is the main reason you want to lose weight? Why do you want to lose weight? Is the reason simply the fact that you are not able to withstand the taunting from work colleagues, or is it because you can't get a date, or is it because you want a body like your favourite celebrity whose picture you saw recently in a magazine, or does it have something to do with your health? Whatever the reason or reasons, write them down on some paper. Jot down all the reasons you want to lose weight, regardless of how big or small they are.
Step 1: Set realistic goals: The time has now come to set some goals for yourself that are realistic. To do this, what you need to do is find out your ideal body weight and then subtract that from what you weigh now. The resulting figure you have is the amount of weight you have to lose to get the kind of body you want.
Realistically it is highly unlikely that you can lose more than 2 pounds per week. Do the math yourself and figure out how many pounds you can shed one year from now. Remember; be realistic when setting your goals. Goals that are unrealistic are pointless. If you weigh more than 100 pounds, then don't expect to have a body like Jamie Eason by next month!
Step 2: Once you've set your goals, you will now need some motivation to help you achieve the weight loss goals you've set. What you use for motivation will of course depend on the reason behind you wanting to lose weight. As an example, if you want a figure like your favourite celebrity, place the picture of that celebrity around your house. Next to that picture, also have your picture with your current body weight. That should keep you more than motivated!
These are the only 2 steps you need to start losing weight right now. You know what the steps are so take action and make your weight loss dreams a reality!
